Eau de parfum and eau de toilette are two different concentrations of fragrances, each with its own characteristics and intensity. The difference is based on the concentration of oils in the fragrance. Perfumes have the highest concentration of pure perfume essence—then comes eau de parfum, eau de toilette and eau de cologne.

3. How do you apply perfume?

Applying perfume is an art that involves more than just spritzing your favorite fragrance. Spray the fragrance 5-7 inches from your pulse points (the spots where you can feel your heartbeat). These areas emit heat which helps to activate the scent of the fragrance. Pulse points include: behind your ears, on your wrists, inside your elbows, behind your knees and neckline.

4. How to store perfume?

Properly storing perfume is essential to ensure its longevity and maintain its fragrance quality. Perfume is a delicate blend of various aromatic compounds and can be sensitive to environmental factors like light, heat, and air.

• Keep perfume bottles away from direct light, heat, and humidity – Perfume is sensitive to both heat and light. Exposure to heat can alter the fragrance and cause it to degrade more quickly. Sunlight and artificial light can also affect the composition of the fragrance. Therefore, it’s best to store your perfume in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations.
• Store the fragrance in the bottle/package that it came in – Perfume bottles often come in specially designed packaging to protect them from light and temperature changes. The original box provides an added layer of protection and should be used for storage whenever possible.
• Store at a consistent temperature – Extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold, can negatively impact the scent of your perfume. It’s recommended to store your perfume at a consistent temperature, ideally around 55-70°F (13-21°C).
