It’s as simple as it sounds! It means washing your face with two cleansers. Typically, the first is an oil-based cleanser, followed by a water-based one.
WHY DOUBLE CLEANSE?
This method is used to remove layers of makeup and sunscreen first, in order to clear the way for your regular cleanser to cleanse your skin.
WHEN SHOULD YOU DOUBLE CLEANSE?
Most do so at night, when accumulated makeup and sunscreen need to be removed. In the morning, you can wash your face with your regular cleanser. An exception may be for very oily skin. Double cleansing can be helpful if your regular cleanser isn’t removing enough excess oil.
